advice /əd'vaɪs/ n.勸告；忠告；建議
eg：You should follow his advice.
你應該聽從他的勸告。
Can you give me a piece of advice about English learning?
你能就英語學習給我一條建議嗎？
advice為不可數名詞，表示“一條建議”常用a piece of advice，“兩條建議”要用two pieces of advice，表示“許多建議”要用much advice。
常用短語：give sb. some advice＝give some advice to sb.
給某人一些建議；
take one's advice
接受某人的建議。
advise為動詞，其固定結構有：advise sb. to do sth.，意為“建議某人做某事”，advise sb. not to do sth.，意為“建議某人不要做某事”。
eg：Everyone advised him to live with his daughter.每個人都建議他與女兒住在一起。
I advise you not to listen to music when you are doing your homework.
我建議你寫作業時不要聽音樂。

number /'nʌmbə(r)/ n.數字；號碼
eg：The number of the students in our class is forty-five.

辨析the number of與a number of
the number of
意為“……的數量或總數”，謂語動詞要用單數形式。
a number of
意為“大量的，許多的”，謂語動詞一般用復數形式。number前可用large，small來修飾。
