地點與場合類試題通常有以下幾種提問方法：
(1)Where is the speaker now?
(2)Where did the conversation probably take place?
(3)Where is the man probably going?
它的特點是考題就對話雙方直接或間接提及的某個地方進行提問，只要我們抓住一些和特定地點有關的常用詞，就可以正確回答問題。高考聽力中一般都會考到某個地點。高考中一般會出現學校、家里、圖書館、餐廳、機場、商店、郵局、賓館等地點。

遇到直接型試題，選項中的地點直接出現在對話中，只要抓住表示地點的名詞即可；倘若是含蓄型試題，就要注意聽對話中有沒有與地點相關的詞。例如：與飯店相關的詞： reservation，menu，order，beer，drinks，eat，bill等；與商店有關的詞： customer，assistant，clothes，price，cheap，expensive 等；與醫院有關的詞： doctor，nurse，medicine，patient，check，headache，toothache，flu，cough等。其他場合出現的詞考生可以在平時多加留意，并作歸納。值得一提的是，有些對話往往不會只涉及一個地點，錄音中通常還會包括與兩個甚至更多的地點有關的信息，這種情況下，讀題是關鍵，只有認真讀題，聽的時候有所側重，才能順利選擇出正確答案。

【解題思路】 此題考查的是場合題，根據對話內容我們可以知道男方是在等候去紐約的飛機時聽到航班取消的事。答案選A。
