1.一般過去時的用法
（1）表示說話前所發生的動作。
例句：He told us to pick apples.
他讓我們摘蘋果。
（2）表示過去所發生的一系列動作。
例句：After school I hurried to ride my bike, got off the bike, put down my bag and went into the house.
放學后，我騎自行車趕回家，下車，放下我的書包，然后就進屋了。
（3）講述（過去的）故事或表示已故的人所做的事情。
例句：Comrade Lei Feng did good deeds in his life.
雷鋒同志在他的生命中總是做好事。
2.一般過去時的特殊疑問句
（1）類型：①含有be動詞的特殊疑問句；
②含有實義動詞的特殊疑問句。
（2）結構形式：
當疑問詞在句中作主語時或在主語前作定語時，用
“疑問詞（+被修飾詞）+was/were+其他？”或“疑問詞（+被修飾詞）+動詞過去式+其他？”。
（3）對主語提問或對主語的定語提問時，后面句序應為陳述句語序。
（4）當疑問詞作賓語或狀語時，用“疑問詞+ was/ were +主語+其他？”或“疑問詞+did+主語+動詞原形+其他？”。
（5）在否定句和疑問句中,如果出現了助動詞did，后面的謂語動詞應還原為原形。
