定語從句
一、定語從句的定義與分類
在復合句中，修飾某一名詞或代詞的從句叫定語從句，被修飾的名詞或代詞叫先行詞。引導定語從句的有關系代詞、關系副詞和介詞＋關系代詞。定語從句一般放在先行詞的后面。
根據定語從句與先行詞的關系，定語從句可分為限制性定語從句及非限制性定語從句。前者緊跟先行詞，主句與從句不用逗號分開，從句不可省略；后者主句與從句之間用逗號分開，起補充說明作用，如果省去，意思仍然完整。
二、關系代詞引導的定語從句
They ignored the details (which/that) might account for the accident.
他們忽略了可能導致事故的細節。
This is the suitcase (that/which) she is looking for.
這是她正在找的手提箱。
The number of the people who/that come to visit this city each year reaches one million.
每年來參觀這個城市的人數達到一百萬。
三、在限制性定語從句中，關系代詞指物時只能用that而不用which的情況
Can you give me anything that has no sugar inside?
能不能給我點兒里面沒有糖的東西？
This is the first two-storey bus that runs in our city.
這是第一輛運行于我市的雙層公交車。
Guilin is the most beautiful city that I have ever visited.
