①guess有推測的意思，意為“猜；猜測”。
eg：I guess you to be her father.我猜想你是她的父親。
②think意為“認為；覺得；以為”。
eg：I think she is right.我認為她是對的。

【辨析】excited與exciting
①excited 形容詞，意為“令人興奮的”，其主語常為人。
eg：She is excited to hear the news.她聽到這個消息很興奮。
②exciting 形容詞，也意為“令人興奮的”，常用來修飾事或物。
eg：This is exciting news.這是激動人心的消息。
►How long did you spend there？你在那兒花了多長時間？
spend動詞，意為“花費(時間，金錢)”，其過去式為spent。spend 的主語常為人，常用結構有兩個：①spend(＋時間或金錢)＋on sth.表示“在某事上花時間或金錢”；②spend＋時間＋(in) doing sth.表示“花時間做某事”，其中in可省略。
eg：I spent 2 years (in) writing the novel.我花了兩年時間寫這部小說。
►back副詞，常放在動詞后與動詞一起作謂語，教材中went back to our family home意為“回家”。
