run out of是“動詞+副詞+介詞”的短語，of后接賓語，主語通常是表示“人”的名詞，也可用于某種能消耗物品的機器等，意為“……用完了……”。

(1) run out of也可表示“從……跑出來”的意思。
這條狗從房間里跑了出來。
The dog ran out of the room.
(2)run out是“動詞+副詞”結構的不及物動詞短語，意為“用完，用盡”，主語通常是表示“時間、金錢”等無生命的東西。
所有的錢都被我花光了。
All the money ran out by me.
(3)sth. run(s) out表示“某物用盡了、用完了”。
我們的食物快吃完了。
Our food will soon run out.
2. I take after my mother.
take after意為“像；與……相像”，指由于血緣關系而（在外貌、性格、行為等方面）與某個長輩相像。其中after是介詞,后常接名詞或代詞。
